The Histology Assistant position in Lombard, IL is involved assisting the histology laboratory team with the preparation and processing of tissue specimens to support accurate diagnostic outcomes.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent; histotechnology certification preferred.
Familiarity with histology processing techniques.
Experience working in a clinical or laboratory setting advantageous.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
Team player with good communication skills.
Commitment to safety and quality standards.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States in a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

Received and accessioned surgical specimens accurately.
Prepared tissue samples through fixation, dehydration, and embedding.
Sectioned and mounted tissue samples onto slides for microscopic examination.
Performed routine and special staining procedures as required.
Maintained accurate records and labeling for specimens.
Assisted with preparation of reagents and laboratory maintenance.
Supported quality control and assurance activities within the histology lab.
Observed safety protocols and maintained a clean working environment.
Collaborated effectively with laboratory staff and other healthcare professionals.
Participated in training and special projects as needed.
