About The Position
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Histotechnician to join our growing pathology team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality tissue specimens for microscopic examination to assist pathologists in accurate diagnosis.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Histotechnology program OR equivalent experience
- Minimum 1-2 years of histology experience required
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Nice To Haves
- HT(ASCP) or HTL(ASCP) certification preferred
Responsibilities
- Process tissue specimens through routine and special staining procedures
- Operate and maintain histological equipment including microtomes, tissue processors, and staining machines
- Perform embedding, sectioning, and mounting of tissue specimens
- Conduct quality control checks on stains and equipment
- Maintain accurate records and documentation per laboratory protocols
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment
- Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies
- Participate in continuing education and training programs
