About The Position
This role is for a HIM Records Requestor Specialist at Bone & Joint, a healthcare organization in Northcentral Wisconsin. The company emphasizes its local ownership and comprehensive care teams. The specialist will be responsible for requesting medical records from various sources for upcoming patient visits, collaborating with team members to ensure records are obtained for all locations, and assisting internal clinical staff with special requests and urgent appointments. Duties also include scanning and indexing protected health information into the EHR system. The role involves regular one-on-one meetings with a supervisor and monthly team huddles. A key responsibility is adhering to HIPAA regulations. The company provides excellent training.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver's License
- Medical Terminology
- Computer Skills (Microsoft Office)
- Ability to multi-task
- Customer Service Skills
- High level attention to detail and accuracy
Responsibilities
- Requesting records from necessary sources and locations for upcoming patient visits.
- Working closely with team members to make sure that all records are obtained for visits at all our locations.
- Working with internal clinical staff members for any special requests and short notice add-on appointments.
- Scanning and indexing protected health information into our EHR system.
- Abiding by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) state and federal regulations.
