About The Position

Langan is seeking a Highway / Roadway Engineer to join its collaborative team in New Haven, CT. This individual will serve a key function in the engineering design of highways, freeways and local roads for diversified transportation projects across the Southeast and across the country. In this role, under the direction of a Senior Engineer, you will have the opportunity to assist with the design and permitting of traffic/transportation engineering and infrastructure projects in a cross-disciplinary learning environment.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering;
0+ years of work-related experience;
Knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities;
Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment;
Possess reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits and a valid driver’s license in good standing.

Nice To Haves

EIT certification or working towards it preferred;

Responsibilities

Geometric designs of highways, freeways, and local roads using national and local codes;
Concept layout and preliminary design of roads;
Preparation of construction plans;
Preparation of Traffic Signalization drawings and plans;
Design of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) improvements;
Design of roadway drainage networks and preparation of stormwater management plans;
Construction specifications review and estimating of costs and quantities;
Preparation of Maintenance and Protection of Traffic Plans (MPT);
Use engineering equipment and design software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, Guidesign, AutoTURN, etc.) to prepare engineering and design documents;
Complete ADA inspections of constructed facilities;
Perform other duties as requested.
