Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, communications, engineering, construction management, regional or community planning, social sciences, natural sciences, education, social justice, or human rights.
  • Experience in program and/or project management, public policy, performance measures, marketing, and/or planning.
  • Experience may substitute for the education requirements on a year-for-year basis.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license or the ability to provide independent authorized transportation.
  • Must be available for occasional overnight travel for fieldwork.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is also required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to explain complex processes.
  • Ability to interpret state and federal regulations.
  • Ability to present information to individuals and groups.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Time management and the ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of communications professionals responsible for telling the story of NDOT.
  • Manage the production of multiple external reports.
  • Oversee events that help celebrate projects around the state.
  • Serve as the Agency leader of internal communications.
  • Guide the story of NDOT through overseeing educational video production.
  • Provide internal and external agency support where needed.
