As a Highway Engineer, you will be directly involved in the design and execution of a wide range of transportation projects, from small enhancements to large infrastructure developments. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (BSCE) from an ABET-accredited program.
6+ years of experience in highway and transportation design.
Strong hands-on experience with roadway, intersection, and interchange projects.
Proficiency in design and plan preparation using MicroStation and related software.
Knowledge of Federal, State, and local jurisdiction permitting regulations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with team members, clients, and regulatory agencies.
Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
Following an offer, candidates will be required to satisfactorily complete employment reference checks, verification of professional licensure and/or educational credentials, a motor vehicle report (MVR), and a comprehensive background check.

Nice To Haves

Registered Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.
PennDOT and/or Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) design experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform detailed design work for highway and transportation projects, including intersections, road widenings, interchanges, and smaller enhancements.
Prepare engineering documents for project advertisements and construction, ensuring compliance with applicable design criteria and regulatory standards.
Conduct design calculations, technical analysis, and produce project specifications for transportation infrastructure.
Work closely with internal teams, clients, and sub-consultants to ensure design alignment and compliance with project requirements.
Assist with project budgeting, cost estimates, and schedule tracking to support project efficiency and financial management.
Conduct site visits and inspections to gather data and ensure design accuracy, providing technical support throughout the construction phase.
Address design-related questions or issues that arise during project execution, ensuring smooth implementation of engineering plans.
Travel occasionally to project or client sites for meetings, site assessments, and project-related tasks.
