About The Position

This position serves the public by working to make the roads in Ohio safer. The selected candidate will be placed in the classification in which they meet minimum qualifications. This role involves performing highway maintenance activities, including flagging, pothole patching, repairing guardrails, litter pickup, and mowing, as well as participating in snow and ice operations. Training will be provided to obtain CDL licensure if not already held.

Requirements

Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction.
Ability to read, write & speak common English vocabulary.
Must obtain Class B Commercial Drivers License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction.
For Highway Technician 1: 3 months training or 3 months experience in operation of basic equipment.
Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction.
If involved in driving motorized snow & ice control equipment, must also have valid commercial driver’s license.
Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction, decimals, percentages & fractions (for Highway Technician 1).
