About The Position

DeAngelo Contracting Services (DCS) is seeking a Highway Maintenance Technician to perform a variety of highway maintenance services and related tasks under close supervision. The successful applicant will train in routine highway and roadway maintenance. The role involves outdoor work in adverse weather and may require adapting work plans and schedules to changing workloads or seasons.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license with at least three years of clean driving.
• Able to work in adverse weather conditions.
• Able to lift moderately heavy objects.
• Able to bend, climb, stand, stoop, or walk for long periods.
• Accurate eye-hand coordination.
• Ability to adapt to changing work plans and schedules due to workload or season.
• May be subject to pre-employment screenings, including criminal background checks, drug screenings, and motor vehicle record checks.

Responsibilities

• Clean and clear culverts.
• Mow and clear brush from roadsides.
• Patch broken or eroded pavement and shoulders.
• Assist with storm cleanup.
• Repair fences and signs.
• Remove litter and debris.
• Respond to emergencies.
• Operate equipment used in highway maintenance.
• Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, and brooms.
• Use power tools such as chainsaws, pole saws, weed eaters, and backpack blowers.
