About The Position

DeAngelo Contracting Services (DCS) is seeking a skilled Highway Maintenance Technician to perform a variety of highway maintenance services and related tasks under close supervision. The selected applicant will train in highway and roadway routine maintenance. The position offers a four-day work week.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license with at least three years of clean driving.
• Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
• Ability to lift moderately heavy objects.
• Ability to bend, climb, stand, stoop, or walk for long periods.
• Accurate eye-hand coordination.
• Ability to adapt to changes in work plans and schedules due to workload or season.

Responsibilities

• Clean and clear culverts.
• Mow and clear brush from roadsides.
• Patch broken or eroded pavement and shoulders.
• Assist with storm cleanup.
• Repair fences and signs.
• Remove litter and debris.
• Respond to emergencies.
• Operate equipment used in highway maintenance.
• Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, and brooms.
• Use power tools such as chainsaws, pole saws, weed eaters, and backpack blowers.
