The Highway Heavy Equipment Mechanic Supervisor plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of our diverse fleet. Our heavy equipment (snow-fighting vehicles, dump trucks, lift trucks, paving equipment, excavating equipment, tractors), light vehicles (roadside trucks), and essential equipment (weed eaters, chainsaws, and other motorized equipment) are the backbone of our daily operations. Our Highway Heavy Equipment Mechanic Supervisors directly minimize downtime, reduce outsourcing costs, and boost overall efficiency while planning and working within budget restraints. This dynamic role involves scheduling and executing routine maintenance, diagnosing urgent repairs, and implementing preventive diagnostics to extend asset lifespan and guarantee compliance with all safety and environmental regulations. Additionally, the Highway Heavy Equipment Mechanic Supervisors leads a team of mechanics on a limited basis and coordinates daily work assignments to all shop personnel and reports problems to management as needed.
