Highway Equipment Worker
About The Position
Goodhue County is recruiting qualified applicants for a Highway Equipment Operator position located at the Cannon Falls shop in the Public Works department. The role involves highway and road maintenance, snow and ice control, and preventative maintenance of equipment and facilities. Applications are accepted until the position is filled. The position is compensated at Grade 108 on the County pay scale, with a stated scale of $58,281–$90,355 and starting compensation of $28.02–$29.42 per hour, depending on qualifications. Requirements
- High school education or equivalent.
- At least two years of experience operating heavy equipment and/or a Technical College certification in equipment operation.
- A Class A Commercial Driver's License, or a Class B license with the ability to obtain a Class A within six months of employment.
Responsibilities
- Perform snow plowing, ice control, and sanding.
- Maintain bituminous road surfaces.
- Maintain highway rights-of-way.
- Perform preventative maintenance on trucks, equipment, buildings, and grounds.
- Maintain gravel roads and provide bituminous highway shouldering.
