Requirements

• One year of experience as a Highway Equipment Manager 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Three years of experience in the repair and maintenance of gasoline and diesel engines and other components of heavy highway maintenance and construction vehicles and equipment including two years of such experience in a supervisory or administrative capacity; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License which is not under suspension with Air Brake restriction removed.
• Possession of a valid Class 4 or Class 7 Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Inspection Mechanic Certification by end of probationary period.
• One year of experience or training in the repair or maintenance of diesel engines.
• Meet the PA residency requirement.

Responsibilities

• Prepare schedules and oversee preventative care for vehicles and facilities
• Inspect equipment to identify needed repairs or replacements
• Manage operator training, testing and certification activities
• Monitor usage and maintain detailed records of tools and equipment
• Supervise the creation of time, progress, and equipment reports
• Assign tasks, evaluate performance, and guide staff development
