We are looking for an experienced Transportation - Highway Engineer to join our team in our Baltimore, MD office. Our highway contracts include complex roadway and multimodal transportation projects across the Mid-Atlantic region and nationally.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program
• 5-10 years of relevant job experience related to highway engineering
• Knowledge of AASHTO, FHWA, and other relevant highway design guidelines, criteria, and standards required
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Positive attitude and willingness to work cooperatively with others
• Ability to effectively communicate orally/written at all levels of the organization
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to handle multiple assignments
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with design software tools such as MicroStation, InRoads, OpenRoads and AutoCAD
• Experience designing and managing highway tasks and projects and preparing contract documents
• Knowledge of MDOT SHA guidelines, criteria, and standards
• Licensed as Professional Engineer in the state of Maryland

Responsibilities

• Planning and design on transportation related projects.
• Support Senior Project Engineers in a variety of tasks in the field of highway design.
• Development of roadway alignments.
• Roadside evaluation and design.
• Maintenance of traffic design.
• Preparation of construction plans, specifications, cost estimates.
• Development of technical reports.
