Requirements

  • Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent experience
  • Extensive experience in Civil Engineering Technology or related field
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering and IADOT design regulations
  • Basic understanding of mathematical skills and proficiency with Microsoft applications (Word/Excel)
  • Basic understanding of civil engineering construction and surveying practices
  • Working knowledge and experience with MicroStation or AutoCAD

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in preliminary and final design drafting on IADot projects

Responsibilities

  • Performing mid to high-level technician work on civil engineering design related to highway transportation project in MicroStation product based platform
  • Prepare preliminary design sheet and final design sheets
  • Work with engineers for modeling and design computing of projects
  • Prepare quantity computations
  • Assist in design alterations and planning
  • Accurately draft information in various software programs
