About The Position

Micron Technology is seeking a High-Volume Manufacturing Shift Equipment Engineer to support its high-volume manufacturing ramp. This hands-on role oversees, maintains, and improves equipment in collaboration with process team members and area engineers. The engineer handles tool performance, performs preventative maintenance, and resolves mechanical, electronic, and software problems to ensure reliable equipment operation. The position is performed on rotating 12-hour shifts, with 3–4 workdays each week and a switch between day and night shifts every four months.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering; other related fields may be considered.
  • Over 2 years of experience as a semiconductor-industry equipment engineer is strongly preferred; alternatively, over 2 years of demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to understand and resolve mechanical problems is valued.
  • Ability to work in a cleanroom on 12-hour rotating shifts, working 3–4 days per week and switching between days and nights every four months.
  • Understanding of AC/DC circuits and basic electronic components, as well as electrical, vacuum, gas-flow, and mechanical principles.
  • More than 2 years of experience repairing systems at the component level using schematic diagrams.
  • Intermediate to advanced software skills, such as Python, Java, Tableau, Matlab, or the MS Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

  • Intermediate understanding of fab process areas, including area processing equipment and supporting systems.
  • Strong time-management, organization, prioritization, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating in a fast-paced fab environment.
  • Experience and/or interest in developing Agentic AI workflows for current or future processes.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Equipment Owners and Shift Engineers/Technicians on daily activities to resolve issues that could cause yield loss, excursions, defects, tool restrictions, or output loss, and drive root-cause analysis to permanent prevention.
  • Improve area and shift benchmarks by reducing Long Term Down (LTD), improving Manufacturing Availability (MA), and preventing excursions.
  • Promote Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), including TPM metrics, workstation health reports, continuous improvement projects, and machine tags.
  • Analyze data using SPC principles to improve process controls and reduce defectivity baselines.
  • Apply Build of Experiment (BOE) principles and/or 8D problem-solving methodology to identify equipment issues that cause unscheduled downtime.
  • Identify and handle chemicals and associated hazards in the work area, and recognize and respond appropriately to safety alarms.

Benefits
