This position helps ensure continuous and safe electrical operations by expertly handling various skilled tasks involving voltage levels up to 66,000 volts. It plays a crucial role in efficiently operating diverse components within the electrical generation and distribution system. The work will occur in key locations, including the Harrisburg Capitol Complex, the Governor’s Residence, the Lieutenant Governor’s Residence, and the Regional Office Buildings. The role involves analyzing, installing, and maintaining electrical machinery, devices, and equipment; making critical changes during breakdowns and repairing hot electrical systems; cleaning, troubleshooting, and repairing control equipment, meters, and generators; monitoring switchboards and controlling electrical generation and distribution; driving to worksites and navigating challenging environments, often working at heights on small platforms and in confined spaces; and installing and fixing variable frequency drives. Communication and general tasks are performed using computers and smartphones.
