About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Researcher to utilize the NGA2 computational suite to investigate and model high-speed shock/droplet interactions and aerobreakup phenomena. This role focuses on advanced computational fluid dynamics (CFD), multiphase flow physics, and high-fidelity simulation of extreme flow environments relevant to aerospace, defense, and high-speed aerothermodynamics applications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, configure, and execute simulations using the NGA2 computational framework to study shock/droplet interaction dynamics.
  • Model aerobreakup processes under high-speed compressible flow conditions.
  • Analyze multiphase flow behavior, including droplet deformation, fragmentation, and post-breakup dynamics.
  • Validate computational results against experimental data and/or benchmark cases.
  • Develop post-processing workflows for extracting physical insights from large-scale simulation datasets.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in computational physics, applied mathematics, and aerospace engineering.
  • Contribute to the advancement and optimization of numerical methods within the NGA2 suite.
  • Document methodologies, simulation setups, and research findings in technical reports and publications.
