About The Position

Trinity Christian School is seeking a passionate and creative Visual Arts teacher to join their dynamic faculty. The ideal candidate will inspire students in both AP Studio Art and on-level Visual Art courses, fostering artistic growth, critical thinking, and technical skill development. The teacher will guide students in portfolio creation, provide individualized mentorship, and create a safe and engaging studio environment. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) or equivalent degree in Studio Art or related field.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating artistic expertise across multiple media.
  • Experience teaching or mentoring students in visual arts, preferably including AP Studio Art.
  • Proficiency in digital art tools, including Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Passion for mentoring students and fostering creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking.
  • Expertise in multiple artistic media and techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of art history and contemporary art practices.
  • Ability to guide students through portfolio development and critique.
  • Differentiated instruction for diverse learning styles and skill levels.
  • Digital proficiency in art software and creative tools.
  • Effective mentorship, classroom management, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Teaching certification in Visual Arts or secondary education.
  • Experience developing curriculum and lesson plans for AP-level courses.
  • Experience organizing student exhibitions or competitions.
  • Familiarity with portfolio-based assessment and AP Studio Art requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Teach AP Studio Art and on-level Visual Art courses, including developing and delivering lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards.
  • Mentor and guide students through AP Studio Art portfolio creation, critiques, and submission processes.
  • Introduce students to a variety of artistic media including drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, photography, and digital media.
  • Foster students’ creativity, visual literacy, and conceptual thinking through individual and group instruction.
  • Assess student work and provide constructive feedback to encourage artistic growth and mastery of techniques.
  • Maintain a well-organized, safe, and inspiring studio environment.
  • Coordinate and oversee student exhibitions, art shows, competitions, and gallery presentations.
  • Integrate art history, contemporary art practices, and cultural perspectives into instruction.
  • Collaborate with colleagues for interdisciplinary projects and curriculum development.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding progress, expectations, and opportunities.
  • Stay current with trends, techniques, and best practices in art education.
