About The Position

This position is for a Boys Varsity Baseball Coach at Warren G. Harding High School for the 2026-27 school year. The coach will be responsible for coordinating and supervising the baseball program, promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship. This role involves designing training and conditioning programs, organizing and supervising assistant coaches, and ensuring compliance with OHSAA guidelines. The coach will also work with booster clubs, assist the Athletic Director with schedules and transportation, and manage team rules and expectations. Additionally, the coach will be responsible for media notifications, athletic form compliance, budget management, equipment care, and ensuring the safety and supervision of student athletes. The position also includes end-of-season recognition and adherence to district policies.

Requirements

Valid CPR certification.
Valid State of Ohio Pupil Activity Permit.
Successful BCII and FBI background checks.
Successfully completed the NFHS Coaching certification.
Successfully completed the Sudden Signs of Cardiac Arrest (Lindsay's Law) certification.
Prior successful baseball coaching experience.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and supervise baseball program and team.
Promote an appreciation of physical fitness, teamwork and sportsmanship.
Design a training program for student athlete conditioning and game program.
Organize and supervise the coaching staff to assure that the program is properly implemented.
Ensure that all athletic activities conform to OHSAA guidelines.
Supervise and evaluate all assistant coaches and JV/freshman coaches.
Work effectively with booster clubs and other community organizations to generate additional monies for the program.
Responsible for assisting the Athletic Director with game schedules, practice schedules and transportation.
Attend OHSAA rules meetings (in-person or online).
Develop team rules/expectations and communicate them to players and families and enforce them.
Notify media final scores and newsworthy items to promote student accomplishments.
Ensure students complete all athletic forms on Final Forms.
Ensure hard copies of student physical forms are provided to the athletic office.
Be responsible for following district guidelines for purchasing items, maintaining a budget, inventory and care of equipment.
Submit a complete roster to the athletic department.
Ensure the continual supervision of student athletes on the field, in conditioning and in locker facilities.
Ensure all health and safety precautions are observed during all activities.
Immediately report all major injuries incurred during practice sessions or competition to the Athletic Director and trainer.
Provide an end of season recognition for the students to pass out varsity letters, certificates and trophies.
Adhere to other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.
Abide by the rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the Warren Board of Education.
Perform any other relevant duties as may be assigned by the Athletic Director or his/her designee.
