About The Position

The High School Testing Coordinator is a 10-month, exempt position responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of testing at Westlake High School. This role requires adherence to state and county assessment regulations, training faculty and staff, organizing test materials, and ensuring compliance with test security protocols. The coordinator will work closely with the administrative team, special education staff, and external offices to facilitate various assessments and interpret data. This position also involves assisting with technology for online assessments and preparing students for testing.

Requirements

  • Holds or is eligible for a professional teaching certificate as per the requirements established by the Maryland State Department of Education required.
  • Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience required.
  • Prior experience providing staff training, administering, and interpreting educational assessments required.
  • Demonstrated application of appropriate instructional methodologies that incorporate data-driven decision- making.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational and planning skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work professionally and discretely with extremely confidential information.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent customer service, communication (both written and verbal), and cross-group collaboration skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains test security and compliance with the State Board of Education’s security by-laws.
  • Trains faculty and staff of all rules and regulations for county, state and national assessments.
  • Ensures all school personnel adhere to the test security guidelines.
  • Works with the school’s administrative team to establish the testing schedule.
  • Organizes secure and non-secure test materials for testing groups.
  • Assigns test groups, test administrators and test proctors.
  • Works with special education case managers and teachers to make sure that accommodations for assessments are being followed for students, and monitors test administration.
  • Organizes and returns answer sheets and test booklets to the Office of Research and Assessment.
  • Reports any testing irregularities to the Office of Research and Assessment.
  • Ensures home-schooled students are administered assessments.
  • Retrieves test scores from Achievement Series, the reports folder and the Data Warehouse.
  • Distributes score reports to teachers and administrators.
  • Facilitates training for Data Warehouse.
  • Interprets analysis of data from county and state assessments as requested by teachers.
  • Works with the Office of Teaching and Learning to facilitate scoring of constructed response items/essays for county assessments.
  • Assists Computer Analyst in preparing computer lab for county and state on-line assessments.
  • Assists teachers in preparing students for assessments.
  • Works with outside agencies to facilitate state and national surveys (NAEP, MYTS, MAS, etc.).
  • Attends monthly School Test Coordinator meetings and additional training courses as necessary with the Local Accountability Coordinator.
  • Acts as a liaison for the Office of Accountability.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
