About The Position

The HSE/HSD teacher instructs students in a regular classroom setting in designated subject areas. The teacher fosters a positive classroom atmosphere that supports student motivation and learning, maintains classroom discipline, establishes strong student-instructor rapport, and uses available curriculum resources. The role also includes maintaining student personnel folders and recording and forwarding daily attendance to Student Records.

The position is with Albuquerque Job Corps, a residential career training program that helps eligible young people ages 16 through 24 complete high school, prepare for careers, and obtain employment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• DOE certification to teach in the state of New Mexico.
• Pass a drug screen in compliance with the Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
• Successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check is a condition of employment.

Nice To Haves

• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
