About The Position

Sonoco is hiring high school co-op students to work at its Tiger Launch site in Hartselle, Alabama, supporting Reel Assembly and Plug Packaging. Students work 20 hours per week and must be at least 16 years old when joining the team. The program is intended for current high school students; Sonoco works with students from Hartselle, Brewer, Danville, Falkville, Decatur, Austin, and West Point, and is open to students from other schools as well.

The role offers manufacturing experience, including working in teams and learning manufacturing safety rules, quality standards, and continuous improvement concepts such as 5S and Focused Improvement. The co-op could potentially lead to a full-time position after graduation. The listed pay rate is $16.78 per hour, with an additional $1.00 per hour weekly perfect-attendance bonus.

Requirements

• Must be a current high school student.
• Must be at least 16 years old when joining the team.
• Able to work 20 hours per week.
• Capable of standing and lifting continuously throughout the shift.
