About The Position

PennLive is looking for a fast-moving, digitally savvy high school sports reporter to join our award-winning team. This role goes far beyond traditional game coverage. We’re seeking a content creator who can cover stories in real time and transform that coverage into compelling written articles and far-reaching vertical video to expand reach. The ideal candidate will also be a multitasker, juggling those daily assignments, with top performer lists, all-star teams and authoritative rankings.

Requirements

• Degree in journalism or communication, or equivalent education and work experience with proven ability in journalism reporting and writing
• Minimum of two years of journalism experience with a proven ability in reporting and writing
• Speed, accuracy, and creativity are essential
• Strong news judgment, sharp writing skills, and a solid grasp of digital storytelling
• Energized by a busy local sports scene
• Able to pivot between sports throughout the year
• Night, weekend, and travel assignments will be central to the role
• Reliable transportation to meet sources
