RPHS JV Head Softball Coach
About The Position
Riverside Preparatory School seeks a passionate and experienced softball coach to lead its high school softball program in Oro Grande, California. The coach will foster sportsmanship, discipline, and team achievement while upholding California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) standards and aligning the program with the school’s mission and values. The role includes developing athletes at all levels; planning and leading practices focused on skills, teamwork, and safety; teaching game strategies and fundamentals; supporting student-athletes in meeting academic eligibility standards; and building a positive team culture. The coach will also supervise assistant coaches, engage with the school community, represent the school at CIF and regional coaching events when required, and oversee program administration in coordination with the Athletic Director. The position is seasonal and reports to the Athletic Director and Principal.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license.
- Social Security card.
- Current TB test with a negative result.
- CPR/First Aid certification.
- Letter of introduction.
- Letter(s) of recommendation signed and dated within the last two years.

Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee the softball program in alignment with the school’s mission, values, and CIF regulations.
- Create a comprehensive development plan for athletes at all levels.
- Plan, organize, and lead practices emphasizing skill development, teamwork, and player safety.
- Teach game strategies, techniques, and fundamental skills suited to athletes’ varying skill levels.
- Monitor academic performance and support student-athletes in maintaining eligibility standards.
- Recruit, mentor, and supervise assistant coaches, fostering a cohesive coaching staff.
- Promote a positive team culture focused on respect, accountability, and growth.
- Build relationships with students, parents, faculty, and the broader community to support the softball program.
- Represent the school at CIF meetings and regional coaching events when required.
- Manage the softball program’s budget, equipment, and facilities in coordination with the Athletic Director.
- Ensure compliance with CIF, league, and school policies regarding athletic participation.
- Communicate schedules, expectations, and program updates to stakeholders.
