Propel seeks a High School Social Studies Teacher for Propel Braddock Hills High School for the 2026-2027 school year. Propel schools operate with an extended school year to increase learning time and opportunities for our scholars, with 190 instructional days and 30 professional development days, totaling 220 work days annually. This Teacher position is accountable to collaborate with administrators and staff in planning for and leading students to learning success. This position will be accountable for developing and teaching curriculum based on the Pennsylvania Common Core Standards. Being a Social Studies educator at Propel involves working with scholars and other invested partners to actively address and solve the literacy crisis in our country. We use data and have adopted an aligned curriculum to address the language of the standards. By doing so we make meaningful shifts to provide scholars grade level content and just in time supports so all scholars are successful in their literacy journey. We achieve this through: Adopted standards-aligned curriculum (myWorld, Civics Interactive, Personal Financial Literacy), A comprehensive Social Studies curriculum K-12, A dedicated Social Studies Coordinator who works collaboratively with educators to help enrich instruction, A unique network-wide portal that houses research-based best strategies, proven to close the literacy gap, Focused and meaningful professional development that attends to the goals we share as a network, Collaborative community where all members work to promote literacy together, A dedication to building background knowledge and context through history, civics, and financial literacy.
