About The Position

GLOW Academy is seeking a passionate High School Social Studies Teacher committed to supporting student mastery of content and developing critical thinking skills for college and beyond. Requirements

  • NC Teacher Certification in the subject area and relevant grades.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach high school with a passion for and competency in Social Studies.
  • Experience in teaching high school Social Studies.
  • Demonstrated ability to build a warm and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement positive behavior practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with students and families to support student success.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and facilitate rigorous and engaging lessons aligned to the content standards outlined in the NC Standard Course of Study.
  • Awareness of educational issues regarding the academic and social development of a diverse population of students, including minority and socioeconomically disadvantaged adolescent girls from high needs neighborhoods/communities.
  • Possession of a valid TB test issued by the local county board of health or recognized medical authority is required for employment.
