About The Position

LEAD Public Schools is seeking a passionate High School Seminar Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. The ideal candidate is dedicated to preparing students for college and beyond, particularly those who require additional support. This role involves working collaboratively with teammates to ensure students meet Tennessee standards, utilizing coaching and administrative support, implementing feedback, analyzing data, and helping students overcome academic challenges. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • Candidates must have either (a) valid Tennessee teaching license with the appropriate content endorsement to teach high school (any 6-12 endorsement will work), or (b) a valid out of state license that can successfully be transferred to Tennessee within 90 days of employment, or (c) demonstrate you are on track to complete the necessary steps towards certification in Tennessee.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement rigorous unit plans and lessons that meet the needs of all students with clear, standard aligned objectives and mission-oriented lessons with appropriate assessments to gauge student comprehension
  • Participate in weekly coaching meetings to engage with seminar curriculum, internalize content, teaching moves, and classroom management to improve your practice
  • Participate in a collaborative learning environment with other team members including grade level work, content teams, and professional development throughout the school year
  • Execute school based duties that can include student conferences, arrival and dismissal, transitions, lunch duty, and other assigned by the school leadership team
  • Run CREW daily, structure that allows time for engaging with a cohort of students for the purposes of accountability and support
