About The Position

This role involves developing and implementing lesson plans that align with the district's curriculum and state educational guidelines. The teacher will be responsible for creating a positive learning environment, assessing student progress, and collaborating with colleagues and parents to support student growth. The position requires a strong understanding of science subject matter, effective instructional strategies, and classroom management skills.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned
Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill district curriculum requirements and state standards.
Prepare lessons that accommodate diverse learning styles.
Present subject matter according to guidelines established by the Texas Education Agency, board policies, and administrative regulations.
Plan and utilize appropriate instructional strategies, activities, materials, and equipment.
Conduct assessments of student learning and use results to inform instruction.
Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula for students with Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Work with staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
Integrate technology to enhance the teaching and learning process.
Help students analyze and improve study methods and habits.
Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement.
Serve as a positive role model for students and support the school district's mission.
Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for student development.
Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
Take necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Establish and maintain open communication with parents, students, principals, and teachers.
Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, students, parents, and community members.
Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.
Stay informed of and comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies.
Compile, maintain, and file all required reports, records, and documents.
Attend and participate in faculty meetings, department meetings, and serve on staff committees.
Supervise assigned teacher aide(s), if applicable.
