About The Position
Empowerment Academy Charter School is hiring a High School Science Support Teacher/ TA at Empowerment’s High School. This role involves supporting 9th and 10th Grade Science Classes and requires comfort with Science Content. The school prefers candidates with a Science Background who aspire to become Science Teachers in the future. This position is for the current school year and beyond, with an immediate start date preferred. Empowerment Academy is a dynamic charter school serving a diverse student population in Jersey City, Hoboken, and New York City. Requirements
- Candidate holds a Substitute Certificate issued by the NJDOE (or is willing to apply and get one immediately upon being hired)
- 2 years minimum of college with Science Courses included (60 credits) and 2 years minimum of experience in a classroom; OR a BA in a Science field and 1 year experience working with children
- Strong knowledge and formal schooling as it pertains to Science at the High School Level
- Comfortable with Science Content

Responsibilities
- Support in 9th and 10th Grade Science Classes
- Assist lead teachers with classroom instruction and student support
- Help identify students who have not achieved mastery of skills, concepts, or knowledge
- Partner with specialists to meet scholars' diverse needs

- Base Salary: $44,000-$60,000
