About The Position

Empowerment Academy Charter School is hiring a High School Science Support Teacher/ TA at Empowerment’s High School. You will support in 9th and 10th Grade Science Classes and must be comfortable with Science Content. We prefer someone with a Science Background who is ultimately looking to become a Science Teacher in the future. This is for the current school year and beyond, so we are looking for someone who can begin ASAP. Empowerment Academy is a dynamic and successful charter school that truly supports its teachers and staff. Empowerment has three of its own campuses, and BelovED is our “sister school.” We serve a mix of students that are among the most diverse in America while enjoying the cultural vibrance of Jersey City, Hoboken and New York City. Requirements

Candidate holds a Substitute Certificate issued by the NJDOE (or is willing to apply and get one immediately upon begin hired)
2 years minimum of college with Science Courses included (60 credits) and 2 years minimum of experience in a classroom; or a BA in a Science field and 1 year experience working with children
Strong knowledge and formal schooling as it pertains to Science at the High School Level
