About The Position

St Catherine's High School is seeking a full-time Religion teacher for the 26/27 school year. This position is responsible for teaching religion courses for the high school curriculum. Being able to teach in an interdisciplinary, team-driven environment with a foundation in critical thinking and Catholic faith is ideal. Siena Catholic Schools of Racine unites the area’s six Catholic elementary schools and one high school in a regional model of Catholic education intended to preserve the individual identity, history, and uniqueness of each school while maximizing the impact of collective strength. Requirements

  • Practicing Catholic
  • A postsecondary degree in Catholic theology
  • State teacher license.
  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 12 semester hours of credit in teacher education from an accredited institution as part of, or in addition to, the degree.
  • A teacher in need of up to 12 credit hours must submit a plan of study to the Archdiocese of Milwaukee Office for Schools by October 1 of the year of the initial contract for the position. The teacher will have three (3) years from the commencement date of the initial contract to complete the required credit hours.
  • Bachelor’s degree and an individualized plan of study to attain licensure/certification approved by the Archdiocese of Milwaukee Office for Schools.
  • Basic Religious Education Certification (within three (3) years from the initial contract date) with continuing efforts toward Advanced certification

Responsibilities

  • Inspiring students and promoting mastery in subject areas.
  • Helping to develop and implement curriculum that is aligned with Wisconsin State Standards, Common Core Standards and Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards as they evolve.
  • Providing continual assessment of student progress and maintaining records.
  • Continually evaluating instructional performance to meet the needs of the students.
