About The Position

Inspire Students to Build Their Future Community Workforce Solutions is seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Pre-Employment Transitions (Pre-ETS) Instructor to lead engaging classroom instruction for high school students with disabilities. In this role, you'll design and deliver lessons that prepare students for employment, post-secondary education, independent living, and lifelong success while building meaningful relationships with students, schools, and community partners throughout the Nash County, Wilson, and Louisburg areas. Requirements

  • Experience teaching, training, or facilitating instruction
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills
  • Valid North Carolina driver's license with a driving record that meets agency standards
  • Ability to travel between school sites throughout Nash County, Wilson, and Louisburg areas
  • Ability to successfully complete a background check and drug screening

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Exceptional Children, Education, Rehabilitation, or a related field preferred (equivalent experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities will be considered)

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver engaging instruction for students ages 14-22 participating in Pre-Employment Transitions Services (Pre-ETS)
  • Teach lessons focused on the five required areas of Pre-ETS: Job Exploration Counseling, Work-Based Learning Experiences, Workplace Readiness Training, Instruction in Self-Advocacy, Postsecondary Education Counseling
  • Adapt instruction to meet a variety of learning styles and student needs
  • Foster student confidence, independence, and workplace readiness
  • Collaborate with facilitators, school personnel, and community partners
  • Travel between multiple high schools throughout Nash County, Wilson, and Louisburg areas
  • Maintain documentation and program records
