About The Position

KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks to add capacity to our team with an additional physical education and health teacher. The P.E/Health teacher would instruct classes of 9th - 12th grade students. As the school grows, the teacher would instruct students across multiple grade levels and/or sections, and ideally run a club or enrichment block. We are committed to providing a quality physical education and health program that will complement our rigorous academic program. This position will work closely with the electives department. Teachers are responsible for creating a positive classroom environment, implementing curriculum, assessing students, collaborating with their team, building relationships with families, and other duties as assigned. Full teacher responsibilities are ultimately outlined by their school leader. The model for the high school will change over time as more grade levels are added and the model is subject to change. Students have block schedules. Elective teachers may have a homeroom and will teach several classes in their department in addition to a club or enrichment block. Every student will be required to take one credit of physical education that incorporates health.
