About The Position

Culver School District is seeking a High School Math Teacher for a 0.50 FTE position. This role is ideal for a flexible candidate with excellent communication skills and a passion for teaching high school students (grades 9-12) and college-level math. The teacher will utilize effective engagement and differentiated instruction to meet diverse learner needs. A key aspect of the role involves fostering positive interactions with students, parents, colleagues, and the community, while instilling a belief in every student's potential for success.

Requirements

  • Current Oregon Teacher License with appropriate endorsements preferred
  • Additional endorsements strongly preferred
  • Willing and qualified to teach Dual Credit College Level Math Courses
  • Knowledge of, or strong interest in, STEM/PBL education is preferred
  • Knowledge of current concepts, methods and procedures for curriculum development and implementation
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate in a positive manner
  • Knowledge and implementation of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS)
  • Skilled at Formative & Summative Assessment Practices that align with the CCSS
  • Skilled at Differentiated Instructional Practices
  • Skilled at Student Engagement Practices
  • Completed Application MUST Include: District Application, Copies of Transcript(s), Copies of License(s), Cover Letter, Resume, One page Educational Philosophy Statement, 3 Letters of Recommendation

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of, or strong interest in, STEM/PBL education
  • Other skills in coaching, club advising, leadership, student council, etc.

  • Instruct High School age students, grades 9-12, as well as college level math.
  • Use highly effective engagement practices and differentiated instruction to reach the various needs of our learners.
  • Interact with students, parents, colleagues and community members in a positive, respectful, and responsible manner.
  • Believe in the success of every student and inspire them to achieve that success.
  • Be a part of the Culver school community outside of the classroom.
  • Potentially coach, advise clubs, or take on leadership roles.
