About The Position

Back to Basics Learning Dynamics (B2B) is seeking a part-time, in-person High School Math Teacher to provide 1:1 instruction during day-time hours. The role involves developing tailored lesson plans, using creative approaches, documenting student progress, communicating with parents, and adjusting teaching techniques for students with learning differences. The position is located in Wilmington, DE 19803, and offers flexible part-time hours up to 15 per week between 8:30 AM and 3:30 PM, with potential for additional evening hours. The role is for the 2026-207 school year.

Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience with high school-aged students (excluding student teaching) in the topic of Math (like, Geometry, Algebra I & II, Statistics, etc.)
• Minimum of Bachelor’s degree required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Current experience in working with students with learning differences. Being able to pivot to keep student engagement.
• Ability to adapt lesson plans and teaching approaches based on student engagement, need, and skill level
• Distance to travel to our center should be no more the 30 minutes

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 instruction in high school math in a school setting
• Develop tailored lesson plans based on student needs and learning styles
• Use creative, hands-on approaches to make the subject engaging and relevant
• Maintain accurate documentation of student's sessions, grading, and progress
• Communicate with parents regularly
• Adjust instruction techniques to accommodate students with learning differences
