About The Position

Cristo Rey Columbus High School is seeking a full-time High School Math Teacher. This role is within a Catholic high school that focuses on college-prep academics, a professional work-study program, Catholic identity, and serving a diverse community of students from low to moderate household incomes. The school aims to provide students with the tools they need to overcome challenges, achieve their goals, and set themselves up for a lifetime of success. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated professional committed to creating and sustaining a culture of high expectations and support for all students, demonstrating a commitment to Cristo Rey’s mission and Catholic, faith-based education.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Appropriate state certification/license: as required by the grade levels and subjects taught
  • Religious Education certification as required by the diocese
  • Background check
  • Attendance at a VIRTUS Protecting God’s Children training will be required prior to employment

Nice To Haves

  • Masters preferred
  • Experience working with students who represent a variety of cultures, races, ethnicities, and linguistic backgrounds preferred
  • Catholic preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Assist students in mastering the skills and information in the school curriculum.
  • Help students grow in faith and responsibility.
  • Integrate Catholic teachings and virtues throughout the curriculum and school culture.
  • Understand student learning, development, and faith formation while respecting diversity.
  • Know and understand the content for which they have instructional responsibility.
  • Use varied assessments to inform instruction, evaluate and ensure student learning.
  • Plan and deliver effective instruction that advances the learning of each individual student.
  • Create Christ-centered learning environments that promote high levels of learning and achievement for all students.
  • Collaborate and communicate with students, parents, other educators, administrators, and the faith community to support student development, learning, and faith.
  • Assume responsibility for their professional academic/spiritual growth, performance, and involvement as an individual and as a member of a Catholic learning community.
