About The Position

The Charles School at Ohio Dominican University (TCS@ODU) is seeking a High School Math Teacher (grades 9-12) for the 2026-2027 school year. TCS@ODU is dedicated to providing urban students in Central Ohio with opportunities for early college success, fostering lifelong learning and informed citizenship. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Valid Ohio Educator License related to instructional area
  • Pass BCI and FBI background check
  • Pass Educator Licensure conduct review

Responsibilities

  • Teach a full course load (six periods with one prep period daily) of math courses, with the specific level determined by the math department (e.g., Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, Statistics, advanced math courses).
  • Develop syllabus, grading expectations, course sequence, title, and all course details in conjunction with building leadership, the department, and the counseling team.
  • Create a caring and nurturing classroom environment where all students can contribute, learn, express themselves, and grow as lifelong learners.
  • Follow building guidance regarding parental communication, classroom management norms, and PBIS expectations.
  • Write, implement, and evaluate Crew lessons with building leadership and grade-level teams, developing a Crew class culture that reflects the school's mission, vision, and core values.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities and duties as assigned by the building leadership team to ensure the safe and effective functioning of the school, shared equitably across the instructional team.
  • Utilize various digital platforms for work, communication with stakeholders, and informing students of grades.
