About The Position

This position requires teachers to understand student learning and development and respect the diversity of the students they teach. Teachers must know and understand the content area for which they have instructional responsibility. They should also understand and use varied assessments to inform instruction, evaluate and ensure student learning. Planning and delivering effective instruction that advances the learning of each individual student is crucial. Creating learning environments that promote high levels of learning and achievement for all students is a key goal. Additionally, teachers are expected to collaborate and communicate with students, parents, other educators, administrators, and the community to support student learning. Finally, teachers must assume responsibility for professional growth, performance, and involvement as individuals and as members of a learning community.
