About The Position

As a High School Inclusive Learning Teacher with East Harlem Scholars Academies, you will be a student-facing educator for the majority of the day. You will collaborate closely with a co-teacher to deliver content and instruction to all students in your class(es). Your responsibilities will include working with your grade team and the instructional leadership team to internalize and develop curriculum, provide high-quality instruction, track and measure student progress, manage Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), create a positive classroom and school culture, and engage in reflection and continuous improvement. The goal is to prepare students with the skills, strength of character, and emotional well-being to excel academically, lead in their communities, and realize their best possible selves.

Requirements

A minimum of three years of experience in relevant educational positions.
A Bachelor's Degree or higher.
Hold or be in the process of obtaining a New York State teaching certification for teaching Students With Disabilities (required).
Hold yourself to high professional and ethical standards.
Enjoy and/or have experience working with diverse populations of students and communities.
Believe that every student can and will learn when provided with a quality education.
Demonstrated success in raising the achievement levels of traditionally at-risk students.
Willingness to be flexible in your role and adapt to school and student needs.
Commitment to continuous improvement and learning through professional development.
