About The Position

The High School Home Liaison will serve as a crucial link between the school, families, and the community to support Granger students. This role focuses on improving attendance, preventing dropouts, and fostering academic success by building strong relationships and coordinating services. The liaison will engage with families through home visits and outreach, connect them with necessary resources, and encourage parent involvement. Key responsibilities include managing attendance documentation, maintaining student records, facilitating communication, and collaborating with school staff to support student well-being and academic achievement.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
  • Must pass Washington State Patrol (WSP) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) background checks

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary link between school and home, fostering trust and open communication.
  • Conduct home visits and outreach to address attendance, academic, or behavioral concerns.
  • Support students and families with chronic absenteeism or truancy through intervention plans.
  • Connect families with school and community services and provide information on district programs.
  • Encourage parent involvement by assisting with conferences, events, and trainings.
  • Demonstrate cultural competence and maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Collect and process attendance documentation (parent notes, medical forms, extended absence requests) daily and ensure accuracy for reporting and interventions.
  • Submit weekly enrollment updates and maintain organized student files that support MTSS and compliance requirements.
  • Answer phones, greet visitors, and assist families with school procedures in a professional and welcoming manner.
  • Coordinate scheduling for parent meetings, family engagement events, and conferences.
  • Prepare reports and maintain documentation for intervention meetings and leadership teams.
  • Assist with distribution of school communications and resources to families in English and Spanish as needed.
  • Work closely with teachers, counselors, and administrators to support student success.
  • Participate in attendance and MTSS teams to analyze data and track interventions.
  • Assist in dropout prevention efforts by identifying and supporting students at risk of disengaging.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the principal or district leadership.
