About The Position

We are currently hiring for a Head Volleyball Coach (stipend of $4,000 to be paid at end of season). The After School Athletics Coach is responsible for facilitating and coordinating activities related to the assigned athletic sport. The After School Athletics Coach is also responsible for coaching, managing and enforcing safety protocols for students participating in the sport. The After School Athletics Coach is also responsible for the supervision and evaluation of all students within his/her assignment, is committed to the Atlantis Charter School Board of Trustee’s policies regarding equity, human rights and cross cultural understanding and reports directly to the Athletic Director or his/her designee. Requirements

• 3+ years experience coaching high school Volleyball.
• Must possess teaching and coaching techniques appropriate to the sport assigned.
• First Aid, CPR, AED and Concussion training required.
• Possession of valid Driver’s License, if transporting students.
• Must be available to attend activities, practices, games, and meetings outside of school hours as necessary.
• Must be dependable and reliable.
• Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Ability to relate well to others.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience coaching in a similar sport strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitating and coordinating activities related to the assigned athletic sport.
• Coaching, managing and enforcing safety protocols for students participating in the sport.
• Supervision and evaluation of all students within his/her assignment.
• Maintains current First-Aid, CPR, and Concussion training, if required by the particular sport, or based on availability of coaches at the activity site.
• Keeps up to date with any necessary training for assigned sport.
• Attends regular coach meetings organized by the After School Athletics Coordinator or Athletic Director at Atlantis to discuss student eligibility, practice schedules, practice locations, documentation, equipment needs, and any general concerns or questions.
• Creates an environment where students are supported and encouraged to participate in the athletics program.
• Adheres to practice schedules, student practice rules and medical compliance as required by the league.
• Strictly upholds and enforces standards and rules of athletic program, especially safety rules and standards.
• Sets appropriate boundaries for students based on school rules.
• Models positive behavior and fair play students.
• Instructs students in the proper use of equipment and sets up equipment for practice and games.
• Notifies After School Activity Coordinator or Athletic Director in a timely manner of any misuse of athletic equipment and need for any replacement equipment.
• Trains students in the basic skills necessary for the assigned sport.
• Recruits parent and/or staff volunteers to assist as needed.
• Completes all necessary documentation for students to participate in the Athletics program and ensures all documentation is submitted to the After School Athletics Coordinator or Athletic Director by deadlines.
• Assists, as needed, in planning and executing an awards party for students at the end of the school year.
• Attends all necessary meetings at Atlantis relating to the Athletics Program.
• Keeps After School Athletic Coordinator and Athletic Director up to date on games, practices, and issues or concerns related to assigned sport.
• Maintains records of student athlete attendance for practices and games, and equipment and uniform assignments and returns.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Establishes and maintains cooperative and effective working relationships with all members of school community to carry out responsibilities.
• Interacts professionally with a diverse range of constituents.
• Maintains an attendance record that meets or exceeds an acceptable standard as defined by ACS policy.
• Takes responsibility and accountability for assigned tasks, projects, and duties while maintaining a professional manner.
• Makes efficient use of time by organizing and prioritizing work efficiently.
• Presents a professional appearance by adhering to ACS dress code.
• Is actively engaged in job/career growth by attending inservice programs, professional development, educational courses and seminars.

• Maintains and respects strict confidentiality of any sensitive information related to Atlantis Charter School, its faculty, staff and students.
• Responds to concerns and requests of direct reports in a timely, respectful and courteous manner.
