High School English Tutor (DuVal HS, PGCPS)
About The Position
Tutor Partners is hiring a High School English Tutor to support 9th- and 10th-grade students at DuVal High School. The tutor will co-teach with a lead teacher in classes of up to 25 students and lead small-group instruction to help students strengthen literacy skills and master grade-level standards. The schedule is Monday through Thursday through May 6, 2027. Mondays and Wednesdays are about five hours per day, covering Power Hour and daytime push-in tutoring. Tuesdays and Thursdays are about seven hours per day, covering Power Hour, daytime push-in tutoring, and Success Academy. The start date is ASAP. Pay is $20–$30 per hour. Requirements
- Experience teaching or tutoring high school English or literacy.
- Strong understanding and use of the 7 ELD and SPED strategies.
- Availability for the full Monday-to-Thursday schedule.

- Experience working with MLL and SPED students.
- Bachelor's degree.
Responsibilities
- Provide small-group instruction in English 9 and English 10 alongside a lead teacher.
- Plan lessons together with the assigned co-teacher.
- Support Multilingual Learners (MLL) and Special Education (SPED) students using ELD and SPED strategies.
- Help students prepare for MCAP state assessments, including test-taking strategies.
- Use digital learning tools, including Quill and Achieve 3000, and track student progress data.
