Notre Dame High School, a part of the Diocese of Allentown, is seeking a full-time, exempt High School English Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. The English Teacher will be responsible for instructing high school students in English and Literature, creating lesson plans, assigning and grading homework, managing the classroom environment, communicating with families, and preparing students for tests. This role requires adherence to the school's curriculum, current educational research, and technological tools to foster student learning. The teacher must maintain a safe, orderly, and productive learning environment, uphold school discipline procedures, and supervise students in various school settings. Responsibilities include organizing daily class time, developing weekly lessons, maintaining fair grading and attendance policies, regularly communicating via email and school web pages, and promptly grading assignments and assessments. The teacher will also evaluate student progress, maintain records, prepare progress reports and report cards, and uphold confidentiality regarding school matters. Adherence to all Notre Dame High School and Allentown Diocese policies is mandatory. The position also requires engagement in professional growth, adherence to professional standards, and demonstration of professional ethics, sound judgment, and leadership. Collaboration with other staff members and attendance at required in-service training, meetings, and workshops are expected. Additionally, employees are expected to exhibit respect for the teachings and discipline of the Catholic Church and maintain a lifestyle in conformity with its teachings.
