About The Position

Requirements

  • A passion for literature and teaching English to high school students of different abilities and backgrounds.
  • A bachelor’s degree in English.
  • A strong foundation in and knowledge of literature, language, and the craft of writing.
  • A willingness and enthusiasm to work in a collaborative department and also reflect on and develop one’s own pedagogy.
  • A commitment to working within and supporting both BC High’s Jesuit identity and its diversity, equity, and inclusion practices.

Nice To Haves

  • A master’s degree in English, Education, or other relevant field.
  • Previous experience teaching English at the high school level.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching four sections of high school English across at least two different grade levels/courses.
  • Fulfilling various student mentoring and prefecting roles throughout the school.
