About The Position

Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a part-time (10 hours/week) High School Engineering Intern in our San Diego-Old Town, California office. The position offers the opportunity to apply academic knowledge to real-world situations in support of a variety of project delivery needs including contaminated site investigations, soil and groundwater remediation, and remedial system design. The position is part-time (10 hours/week) for approximately 10 to 14 weeks during the summer of 2026. Candidates are responsible for coordinating their own transportation to and from the office. Our clients ask us to address their new ventures and most challenging problems involving the environment, natural resources, and civil infrastructure. Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as a rising junior or senior in a local area high school.
  • Written authorization to work as required under state laws depending on age.
  • Outstanding academic credentials and exceptional interpersonal, writing, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in engineering calculations using computer-based technical tools
  • Assist in report and proposal preparation
  • Data input and analyses
  • Follow instructions and interact with engineers, geologists, office administrative staff, CADD operators (draftsmen), contractors and construction personnel
  • Develop an understanding of the consulting profession
  • Assist with office and field equipment organization, and equipment calibration
