About The Position

Beloved Community Charter School is seeking dynamic and innovative educators to expand its high school elective offerings. We are looking for teachers passionate about creating and teaching courses in areas such as Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Humanities, Social Sciences, Government, Literature, and/or Journalism/Creative Writing. This role offers creative freedom to design a unique course while working in a highly successful charter school that prioritizes teacher support and student achievement. Our school is committed to providing a joyful and supportive environment, fostering high teacher and student retention, and serving a diverse student population.

Requirements

  • Hold or be willing to pursue licensure in an area relevant to the elective they wish to teach.
  • Possess a powerful commitment to the mission and goals of the school.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to preparing every student for college and careers, and to developing every student’s values and character.
  • Believe in a structured and predictable environment for children and a commitment to education standards, statewide testing, and accountability.
  • Have a record of producing significant student learning gains.
  • Be willing to be the authority in the classroom, setting and enforcing rules.
  • Commit to building student relationships and engaging parents/guardians in their children’s education.

Responsibilities

  • Commit to the School’s values and mission, holding high expectations for each student and helping them achieve their full potential.
  • Accept ultimate responsibility for student learning progress, actively developing solutions to problems and seeking support when necessary.
  • Plan and deliver vibrant, engaging lessons with measurable goals, utilizing school-provided or self-designed curricular materials within a standards-aligned program.
  • Administer school-provided formative assessments regularly to target instruction to student needs.
  • Communicate and model behaviors that support a high expectations culture and a caring school climate.
  • Apply school and classroom rules consistently and effectively, using preventive discipline and supervising students appropriately.
  • See themselves as members of a team, committing to ongoing professional development for themselves and their peers.
  • Attend professional development sessions, participate actively in planning meetings, and engage in professional learning communities.
  • Collaborate with special education and ELL staff to implement programs and comply with regulations.
  • Report to the Head Dean and work closely with grade-level peers within professional learning communities.
