About The Position

The Electives Area Teacher helps the Lead Teacher plan and implement the daily program for children. The role supervises the class according to the Lead Teacher’s plans when the Lead Teacher is out of the room, and may be assisted by an Aide or Assistant Teacher. The Teacher helps with meals, safety, and maintaining a clean and orderly classroom and Center. The Center uses a play-based curriculum and aims to inspire children to become lifelong learners.

Requirements

• Experience working in a licensed childcare facility.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to meet state and/or accreditation requirements for education and experience.
• Flexibility regarding work hours and schedule.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Nice To Haves

• Coursework or a degree in early childhood education or child development, or a Child Development Associate (CDA).

Responsibilities

• Ensure the daily care of every child by following licensing guidelines and company standards.
• Help maintain a fun, interactive classroom that is clean and organized.
• Supervise the classroom according to the Lead Teacher’s plans when the Lead Teacher is out of the room.
• Attend required staff training sessions, meetings, and programs sponsored by the Center.
• Help prepare meals and snacks, feed children, and model table manners at family-style meals.
• Perform other related duties as requested by a Lead Teacher or Center Director.
