About The Position

This position is designed to provide high school students with an introduction to hotel operations. The High School Co-op will have the opportunity to work in various departments such as the front desk, restaurants, room operations, and events to support operational needs. The role involves assisting guests and associates, performing tasks in different areas of the hotel, and contributing to memorable guest experiences. This training role offers short-term exposure to the hotel industry and can serve as preparation for future full-time employment. Critical to success in this role are maintaining a safe workplace, adhering to company policies, punctuality, upholding quality standards, and presenting a professional image through uniform, appearance, and communication. The role requires physical activity including standing, sitting, walking for extended periods, and navigating different surfaces. Responsibilities include managing check-in/check-out processes, reading and verifying information, and performing tasks that involve moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects up to 25 pounds without assistance and up to 50 pounds with assistance. Reaching overhead, below the knees, and performing bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping motions are also part of the job. Successfully performing these duties and other reasonable tasks is essential for providing excellent guest and business experiences.

Requirements

  • Currently in high school or a high school program.
  • No related work experience required.
  • No supervisory experience required.
  • No specific licenses or certifications required.

Responsibilities

  • Support operational needs in one or more hotel departments (e.g., front desk, restaurants, room operations, events).
  • Assist guests and associates.
  • Perform various tasks across the property, including in rooms and the kitchen.
  • Deliver items across the property.
  • Create a safe workplace.
  • Follow company policies and procedures.
  • Be punctual for shifts.
  • Uphold quality standards.
  • Maintain professional uniform, personal appearance, and communications.
  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended time.
  • Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces.
  • Manage check-in and check-out processes.
  • Read and visually verify information.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance and 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
