Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required
Non-certified candidates must have at least 12 college credits in the relevant subject area and provide transcripts demonstrating subject-matter expertise.
1–2 years of experience teaching Chemistry or a related subject to middle or high school students

Nice To Haves

Valid New York State Teaching Certification
experience in an urban school setting preferred

Responsibilities

Deliver engaging Chemistry instruction that encourages students to ask questions, think critically, and apply scientific concepts to real-world situations.
Plan and facilitate lessons, activities, and assessments that make complex Chemistry topics accessible to diverse learners.
Foster a structured and inclusive classroom where students are encouraged to participate, collaborate, and take ownership of their learning.
Work proactively with fellow educators and school staff to support student achievement and contribute to a positive school community.
