About The Position

Teach handbuilding and wheel throwing ceramics to students in 9-12 mixed grade classes in quarter, semester and year-long classes. Manage and maintain all health & safety aspects of a ceramics studio. Maintain and order clay bodies, glazes, equipment, and maintenance. Assess student work in a timely manner and encouraging ongoing artistic development. Teach an Advisory as well as other teaching duties as needed.

Requirements

• Experience teaching ceramics to high school students (grades 9-12).
• Proficiency in handbuilding and wheel throwing techniques.
• Knowledge of ceramics studio health and safety protocols.
• Ability to manage and order studio supplies (clay bodies, glazes, equipment).
• Skill in assessing student work and fostering artistic development.
• Ability to teach an Advisory class.
• Willingness to fulfill other teaching duties as needed.
